The Zomet Experience: A Techno-Halachic Adventure
The Zomet Institute's visiting center – An educational interactive exhibit
Advances in our rapidly changing world often seem to be at odds with Halacha.
The Zomet Experience, the world’s first Halachic Science Center, combines:
§ cutting edge 3D animated films
§ interactive models
§ hands on experiments
This will provide all visitors young and old alike with an unforgettable journey giving them an in depth understanding of Halacha and Technology synthesized in modern living.
The Zomet Experience is to be divided into 4 zones. The first will give the visitor an understanding of the fundamental concepts of Halacha and Technology, with each of the following zones focusing on a specific area of life including, Security, Medicine and Oneg Shabbat.
The Zomet Experience is being designed by a dynamic team headed by Rabbi Yisrael Rozen, Engineer, Founder and Dean of The Zomet Institute and Benni Nahmani, the leading Partner of Galgal Design Associates, who has designed museums including the Bloomfield Science Museum in Jerusalem and The National Science museum at the Technion in Haifa.
The Zomet Insitute - At the junction between Halacha and modern world
The Zomet Institute is a non-profit, public research institute dedicated to seamlessly merge Halachic Judaism with Modern Life.
For close to 30 years our staff of 25 Rabbis, researchers, and engineers has devised practical and pragmatic Halachic solutions for institutions, businesses and private citizens.
Zomet’s engineers have developed and implemented technologies that enable products such as metal detectors, security vehicles, elevators, electric wheelchairs, and coffee machines to be used on Shabbat.
Project updates:
The architectural and educational design for the Zomet Experience is finished. The construction of 300 square Meters for the visiting center is at its last stages. 35 minutes of digital animated 3D films have been made.
Approximately 4 months after receiving the remaining donation for the Zomet Experience project the visiting center can be opened up for the public. We are doing everything possible to open it up as soon as possible.
